Racing:Delegator is "very likely" to run in the Boylesports Irish 2000 Guineas. Brian Meehan's colt, beaten a length and a half by Sea The Stars in the Newmarket equivalent, was initially set to skip the Curragh Classic and head straight to Royal Ascot.
Plans have now been revised, though, with the Craven Stakes winner geared towards a tilt at the Irish showpiece on May 23rd.
"Delegator has taken the Guineas very well and we would have to say that he is very likely to head for the Curragh, provided the ground is good," said Meehan.
"In addition to the fact he is in such good form, we have to consider that the Royal Ascot ground could get quite firm.
"We could find ourselves with no place to go if we wait for the middle of June and then find conditions don't suit."
Super Sleuth, an eye-catching third in the 1000 Guineas at Newmarket, is still under consideration for the Irish renewal 24 hours later - for which she would need to be supplemented.
Meehan is, however, leaning towards a trip to Chantilly for the Selkirk filly, which may run in the Group Two Prix de Sandringham on May 31st.
"We are happy with Super Sleuth, and we have not ruled out a trip to the Curragh for the Irish 1000 Guineas," added the trainer. "However, we are looking at the possibility of heading to Chantilly for what looks an attractive option of a Group Two."
Saturday's Victoria Cup winner, Swift Gift, has Newmarket's Bunbury Cup in July as a long-term objective.
In the interim, he may return to Ascot for the Royal meeting in June.
"The Bunbury Cup is a logical target for him, and it is a race which has been lucky for us in the past," the handler told www.brianmeehanatmanton.com.
"But it is a long time between now and then, and the Buckingham Palace could fill the void very well."
