Ms Michelle Rocca has sold her Ballsbridge home, Somerset on Anglesea Road, Dublin 4, for an estimated £1.7 million.
The five-bedroom property was withdrawn from a Lisney auction yesterday and sold afterwards in private negotiations.
Ms Rocca bought the house in 1996 for £580,000. Previously, it was the home of the missing Irish investment broker, Mr Tony Taylor.
Now refurbished and with its third of an acre of garden lavishly landscaped, the house had been expected to sell for around £1.2 million.
With a long driveway and protected by high electronically controlled gates, the house backs on to the Dodder and adjoins the grounds of Merrion Cricket Club.
Inside, Somerset is a fairly modest home with two reception rooms, a study and a large country-style kitchen that opens on to a patio garden. The main bedroom is a bright airy room with a dressingroom and ensuite bathroom on the first floor. There are two further bedrooms and a bathroom on this level, and a further two bedrooms at attic level.
A landscape designer, Mr Arthur Shackleton, designed the gardens to ensure colour all year round. Most of the garden is at the side of the house and is screened by tall trees which increase the sense of privacy.
Ms Rocca is planning to move abroad to study, according to her publicity agent, Ms Mary Finan.
