The Minister for Sport has dismissed Fine Gael allegations that he has been "dithering" over making a decision on the national stadium. Mr O'Donoghue insisted he was waiting for a final evaluation of the latest document from the IRFU and FAI to go to Government.
Fine Gael's sports spokesman, Mr Jimmy Deenihan, said it was "time to move from vanity to sanity and from dreams to reality. The time for dithering, obfuscation and procrastination is now over". The IRFU and FAI have proposed a 50,000 seater stadium in Lansdowne Road at a cost of €250 million.
Rejecting the accusation, Mr O'Donoghue said he would be bringing a proposal to Government in January.
