Collie Moran and his Dublin team mates are eager to put last week's heavy defeat to Armagh behind them with a win over Meath in Parnell Park.
The Dublin footballers were unbeaten in Division Two this year before the nine point loss to the Orchard County prevented them from going top of the table.
Paul Caffrey's side now need to beat Meath on Sunday to
guarantee promotion and a final place but Moran is glad the
chance for redemption came around so soon.
"It was a very disappointing performance last Sunday," Moran
said today. "We were proud to have gone on such a long unbeaten run
but it came to an end with a bang last Sunday. I was very
disappointed with the quality of the performance more than anything
else.
"We are looking to bounce back this weekend and it is great to have another game this weekend, so there has not been too much time to do a post mortem. So we are just looking forward now and hoping to put in a much better performance.
Armagh were well worth their in Crossmaglen, showing some mettle
after a disappointing seven point defeat to Meath, but Moran admits
the Dublin players have to atone for individual errors and
defensive frailties.
"Looking back at the video of it, there were just a lot of
basic individual errors, bad mistakes, conceding three goals," said
Moran.
"It was just a disappointment defensively and through out the pitch there would not have been too many Dublin players satisfied with their own performances. The onus is on everyone to lift their game this weekend."
