The Government is to make available further lands in Dublin , Cork and Waterford for affordable housing. The lands will provide sites for some 3,600 houses.
The plan will work by handing over State land to local authorities or associated agencies, which will be charged with ensuring houses are made available for sums that do not include the usual in-built land prices.
The Taoiseach, Mr Ahern said: "The
Government
is
honouring
its
commitment
in Sustaining Progress to deliver
affordable
housing".
