A heavy mortar bomb was firedat an Israeli road block on the edge of the Gaza Strip early today, causing damage but no casualties, a military spokesman said.
The 120 millimetre bomb exploded in Israeli territory near the Karni crossingpoint between Israel and the Gaza Strip, damaging cars and blowing in windows, the spokesman said.
He said a grenade was also thrown at Israeli troops at Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip near the border with Egypt and that a military post also came under fire near the Sufa crossing point with Israel - again causing no casualties.
The attacks came despite a ceasefire that began on June 13th.
Israeli press reports said Prime Minister Mr Ariel Sharon'ssecurity cabinet meeting yesterday had sanctioned resuming the targeting of Palestinians deemed responsible for planning attacks.
