Paris - The mother of a teenage African stowaway found dead in the landing gear of a Belgian plane this week said the boy had wanted to surprise her and study in Europe to become a lawyer. Saran Doumbouya said of her 15-year-old son Koita Yaguine in an interview published by Le Parisien that he wanted to become a lawyer "to defend the poor and Africa's children".
Koita Yaguine and another young stowaway, Tounkara Fode, both from Guinea, were found dead at Brussels airport on Monday.
