The motorcyclist who died following a collision with a farm animal in Limerick has been named as Denis Murphy with an address at Ballyann, Askeaton Co Limerick.
It is understood he was travelling along a country road near Barnagh, Newcastle West, at 1am this morning when the crash happened.
His death brings the number of road deaths this weekend to four.
A teenage girl died in an accident on Sunday morning in Bunclody after spending the night at a disco. Kathy Byrne, from Tullow, Co Carlow, was walking home with friends just after 3am when she was struck by a car. She had been due to celebrate her 16th birthday on Friday.
The driver of the car, a local man (23), was charged with drink-driving at Gorey Garda station.
Elsewhere, Colm Cooper (19), of Drumbarragh, Kells, Co Meath, died when his car crashed in Drumbarragh shortly after 3am.
In north Dublin, Polish man Janusz Szostakiewiez (32) died after the car he was travelling in veered off the road and crashed into a brick wall on the Skerries Road, near Rush, shortly after midnight on Sunday.
A woman is in a critical condition in hospital today after she and a group of others were struck by an ambulance in Co Monaghan.
The ambulance had been called to the scene of a crash at Hackballscross, near Dundalk, on Sunday afternoon when the accident happened.
A total of 311 people have died in road crashes around the country this year.
