Motorists intending to use the M50 motorway have been warned they face disruption tonight as upgrading works continue.

Contractors have warned that from 9am tonight, lane closures will be in place on the N7 outbound, M50 northbound and the Ballymount Interchange until 9am tomorrow.

From 9am tomorrow, the existing M50 northbound off ramp to the N7 interchange will be closed and city and Naas-bound traffic will be directed onto a temporary freeflow loop.

Works will also result in the Ballymount interchange reopening with all signals and right turns restored.

Motorists are advised to drive carefully and heed the temporary diversion signs
in place.
