Mexico City - Mexican authorities in the southern state of Chiapas have dismantled the latest pro-Zapatista "autonomous municipality" in a massive, pre-dawn raid involving hundreds of police and soldiers.

Nine Mexicans - including community leaders and a university professor - and a dozen foreign observers from five different countries were arrested during the operation in the early hours of Saturday, but there were no reports of serious injuries.
