A murder inquiry has begun following the death of a man described by gardaí as a member of a vicious criminal gang in a shooting in Dublin last night.
The shooting happened in the Brookwood Inn in the Corduff area of Blanchardstown, at about 10.30 p.m.

The man (24) was singled out by two men wearing balaclavas. He was shot a number of times in the chest with what is believed to be a handgun.
A second man was shot in the foot but has since released himself from hospital.
The victims were brought to the James Connolly hospital in Blanchardstown - where one of the men was pronounced dead a short time later.
Det Insp Brian Sherry said the man was part of a notorious criminal gang known as the "Westies". He said the victim had been involved in crime at a minor level and had come to the attention of gardaí a number of times.
"We would be reasonably satisfied that this man was singled out," he said.
Gardaí believe there could have been up to 200 people in the bar at the time of the shooting and have appealed for witnesses to come forward.
