Aintree Grand National:Comply Or Die owner David Johnson has confirmed Timmy Murphy will ride the 2008 winner in Saturday's John Smith's Grand National at Aintree, after turning down the option of William Hill Trophy runner-up The Package.

Graham Lee, also a former Grand National winner, will ride The Package.

Johnson told At The Races: "Timmy Murphy will ride Comply Or Die. I've just been speaking to him and I told him it's make your mind up time, so he's decided to stay with Comply Or Die.

"It doesn't surprise me as he's come first and second for the last two years and it's very hard to get off that.

"Graham (Lee) will ride The Package and he was very pleased with him the other day.

"I think they've both got big chances, but it's a very tough race and every horse in the race has a chance."

Comply Or Die has only been seen twice since finishing second behind Mon Mome 12 months ago.

He is due to shoulder 11st 5lb in this year's renewal of the world's greatest steeplechase.

The Package, who will carry 10st 7lb, was last in action at the Cheltenham Festival, where he was narrowly touched off in the William Hill Trophy.

Meanwhile, Paul Webber's Time For Rupert will not be taking up his engagement in the BGC Partners Liverpool Hurdle.

The six-year-old put up the finest performance of his career to date when finishing second to Big Buck's in the World Hurdle at Cheltenham last month and had been set to lock horns with the same rival tomorrow.

However, the minor setback means he is now unlikely to run again this season.

"I'm afraid Time For Rupert will be a non-runner," said Webber. "He's had a trachea wash this morning and he's just not quite as healthy as he should be.

"It's a bit disappointing but it's just one of those things and we'll have to see what happens next.

"We have the possibility of going to Punchestown but he may just be telling us that he's done enough for this season.

"He's certainly done more than we could have expected and we will look forward to next season, where he will probably go novice chasing."

Kayf Aramis will be lining up in the Grade One contest for Nigel Twiston-Davies.

The eight-year-old was a fine fifth under a big weight bidding for a repeat win in the Pertemps Final at Cheltenham but his trainer admits he has plenty on his plate against Big Buck's.

"It's tough for him with his handicap mark and we've really got to go for these races or run in handicaps with big weights," said Twiston-Davies.

"Big Buck's is obviously going to be very tough to beat but he's there to be shot at and our horse has run well in a number of conditions races without winning, so we're hopeful for him."
