Gardai are looking for five members of a crew which mutinied on a Russian ship in Waterford.
Some went missing last Friday, but all had returned to the vessel by 10 p.m. Soon afterwards they left again in cars which came to collect them. The Garda has been given the registration numbers. Five of the men were still missing yesterday.
The MV Firyuza has been docked in Waterford since mid-June, when its Ukrainian crew refused to sail until overdue wages were paid. With the assistance of Mr Tony Ayton, of SIPTU, a deal appeared to have been reached when money for the men arrived in Waterford from their Moscow-based employer, Olmar Shipping.
By that stage most of the 18-man crew involved in the dispute had agreed to stay with the vessel, and seven were to be returned to Ukraine. Two are due to fly from Shannon via London to Kiev this week.
