SARAJEVO - NATO's Secretary-General, Mr Javier Solana, confirmed yesterday the limited duration of the Atlantic alliance mission in Bosnia but expressed optimism on chances for peace in the country. The NATO-led "Stabilisation Force (SFOR) will leave Bosnia in June 1998," he said.

"It's a limited mission. We have 15 months to do everything we have to do and we should be able to leave Bosnia-Herzegovina in peace at the end of the mission," Mr Solana told a press conference in Sarajevo while on a one-day visit with the NATO commander for Europe, US Gen George Joulwan.
