SARAJEVO - The NATO Secretary General, Mr Javier Solana, fired a shot across the bow of the Bosnian Serbs in Sarajevo yesterday, warning Serb leaders NATO would not tolerate military violations of the Dayton peace agreement.

Serb soldiers blocked a NATO site inspection at the Serb military headquarters in Han Pijesak on Saturday.

The 50,000 strong NATO led peace force in Bosnia has been on a heightened state of alert for several days because of a perceived threat which it refuses to specify.
