EIGHTY NEW scholars of Trinity College Dublin (TCD) as well as 17 new fellows and three honorary fellows were announced this week at a ceremony by TCD Provost Dr John Hegarty.

The scholars are elected every year based on a student’s exam results from the Hilary term and is for those who have shown exceptional understanding of their subjects.

Fellowships are awarded to academics whose research is of “a high order”, who contribute to the academic life of the college and have an effective record of teaching.

These appointees would have submitted their work for external review as part of the process.
