Two pensioners were attacked and ordered to leave their home in the North last night by a masked gang.

Three men broke into Robert and Gertrude Hesketh’s house in Lurgan just before 11pm last night and threatened them with a hammer.

The couple were told they had two days to leave the house or it would be burned down.

While a TV and grandfather clock were damaged, nothing was stolen during the incident and police are still trying to establish a motive.

Mr Hesketh (73) and his wife (69) had recently moved back into the house at Tarry Drive after living elsewhere for a period.
