Speed cameras in Northern Ireland have caught more than 6,000 drivers over the limit since July this year, according to figures released today by the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI).
Police say that speed is a factor in 25 per cent of all road deaths. Police also said that 80 per cent of all fatal crashes in which speeding is a factor involves males between the ages of 17 and 24.
So far 139 people have died on Northern Ireland's roads this year.
