Nineteen people died and at least 35 were injured when a Czech bus taking tourists home from a winter-sports holiday in Austria crashed last night.
Medical sources said 17 people were killed outright and twoothers died in hospital. The victims included a child.
The vehicle went off the road near the town of Kaplice in the south of the Czech Republic's Bohemia region, the state radio station CRo said.
The two bus drivers were questioned by police during thenight.Police said possible causes for the accident included the driverfalling asleep, an animal crossing the road or mechanical problemson the bus.

The vehicle belonged to a travel agency in the northern Bohemiantown of Sokolov.All the passengers on the bus were believed to be Czechs.
