Paul Galvin's hearing against a 24-week ban was heard by the Disputes Resolution Authority (DRA) last night but was not completed and a decision will not be reached until next Monday.
"The DRA hearing arising out of Paul Galvin's request for arbitration took place last night but was not completed. The Tribunal will reconvene on Monday next, 21st July 2008," today's DRA statement read.
The Kerry captain's ban arose from two incidents with match officials during Kerry's Munster SFC semi-final win over Clare on June 15th. Galvin was sent-off after receiving a second yellow card by referee Paddy Russell at Fitzgerald Stadium.
Galvin then slapped the referee's black notebook out of Russell's hand before verbally abusing the linesman Michael Meade as he left the pitch. He later expressed regret for his actions.
After the Central Competitions Control Committee (CCCC) ban was upheld by the Central Hearing Committee (CHC) and later by the Central Hearings Committee (CHC), Galvin's last throw of the dice lies with the DRA, whose decision is binding.
Galvin is bidding to have the ban overturned, or at least reduced, otherwise he will play no further part in this year's championship.
Dublin's Colin Moran also took his case to the DRA in the hope of having his four-week suspension overturned in time for this Sunday's Leinster SFC final against Wexford at Croke Park.
Manager Paul Caffrey delayed naming his starting line-up last night to hear the outcome of Moran's case first.
Moran was suspended after the CCCC requested referee Padraig Hughes to review an incident with Westmeath's Dermot Bannon in last month's semi-final, which led to him up-grading Moran's yellow card to a red.
