THE ISLAND of Inishvickillane in Co Kerry and a small property in Co Wexford were valued at €963,616 at the end of 2009, according to the company that owns them on behalf of the four children of the late Charles Haughey.
However, the auditors to the accounts of Larchfield Securities said they had a difficulty with the figure as no recent valuation of the properties had been carried out.
Larchfield Securities is an unlimited company and does not have to file accounts. It is owned in equal part by Éimear Mulhearn, and Ciarán, Conor and Seán Haughey. The company’s auditors, Kieran Ryan Co, Upper Mount Street, Dublin, recently filed their report to the Companies Office.
Last year Larchfield filed two certificates to the Companies Office recording the fact that mortgages on two properties it owns had been satisfied.
A certificate filed in September stated a mortgage from Bank of Ireland created in February 1981 had been settled in September 2004.
A charge in the name of AIB, created in September 1975, was satisfied in September 2009.
This charge was against the island of Inishvickillane, which was bought by Larchfield in July 1975.
