The Northern Ireland Assembly will be recalled on Thursday morning as a mark of respect to the Queen Mother.

Leaders of the political parties have been given 10 minutes each to pay tribute to the Queen Mother, who died on Saturday.

A Northern Ireland Office spokeswoman said a book of condolences at Hillsborough Castle will be opened tomorrow afternoon. People can go to the castle between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. tomorrow and between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. on subsequent days.

Yesterday, Belfast joined with cities across Britain and Gibraltar at midday in a 41-gun salute as a mark of respect for the Queen Mother.

The salute, at Hillsborough Castle, took the form of guns firing at intervals of roughly once a minute for 40 minutes.
