The following statement has been issued by NUI, Galway:
This data, originating at the State Examinations Commission, is transmitted to NUI, Galway, via the Central Applications Office for particular administrative purposes.
Accordingly, the university cannot stand over the completeness of the data if it is used for other purposes. These figures relating to the 2004 student intake reflect the schools where the most recent sitting of the Leaving Certificate Examination took place. (In previous years the figures reflected the school hosting the first sitting in the case of students taking the Leaving Certificate more than once).
