GAA:Mick O'Dwyer is expected to remain as Wicklow senior football manager for another year after reports suggest the Kerry legend has pulled out of the race to become the new Mayo boss.
It is understood the 74-year-old notified the Mayo county board he is no longer interested in the position vacated by John O’Mahony in June. That leaves John Maughan, Tommy Lyons, Tommy Carr, James Horan, Anthony McGarry and Denis Kearney still in the running for the job.
O'Dwyer has been a helm with Wicklow for four years and confirmation he will remain for another year is expected to be announced tomorrow.
