Oasis lead singer to join band in Detroit

OASIS singer Liam Gallagher is expected to rejoin the band in the US this week after his dramatic walk out on Monday

OASIS singer Liam Gallagher is expected to rejoin the band in the US this week after his dramatic walk out on Monday. With fiancee Patsy Kensit he will travel to Detroit to rejoin the band in time for the next concert tomorrow.

As the band started its latest and biggest tour of America, its record company, Creation, sought to restore confidence in the Manchester superstars with or without Gallagher. Creation highlighted good reviews of the Chicago concert, at which Liam's big brother Noel filled in on all vocals.

All the tickets returned by disappointed fans had been snapped up by others, Creation said, adding: "Liam is seeing a doctor tomorrow and is expected to get the all clear on his throat so he can rejoin the tour shortly."

Laryngitis was the reason given for his non appearance at the MTV Unpluged session in London last week. But questions remain about his behaviour in storming off the plane 15 minutes before take off for the US tour.

Oasis last night strongly denied a report in Here! magazine that Gallagher had undergone therapy for drink and drug problems.

A spokesman for Creation said: "There is absolutely no truth whatsoever in the allegations that Liam is undergoing therapy. Liam has not seen any doctor nor any other consultant, other than in relation to his throat infection, in more than a year, and has certainly never undergone any therapy."

The band is taking legal advice, the statement said.

It emerged last night that MTV, the video channel vital in any international success, is reconsidering whether to show the Liam less Unplugged session in the US on October 4th as planned.
