Offaly men and women from the world of business, media, sport and the arts have promised to promote the county as a "quality investment location".
The Offaly Ambassadors programme was launched last night and successful Offaly people have lent their support.
Among the ambassadors announced last night in Shannonbridge were Barbara Smyth, marketing director of Silverline Cruisers Ltd; Paul Carroll, business development director of CPL Resources plc; and John Flanagan of John Flanagan & Sons Ltd. "I would sincerely hope that initiatives such as this continue to market the county in an innovative and positive manner," said one of the best-known Offaly figures, Minister for Finance Brian Cowen.
