London benchmark Brent crude futures soared to their highest level in over 13 years as weekend attacks on Saudi oil facilities sparked fears of potential supply disruptions.
Crude futures on the International Petroleum Exchange (IPE) hit $35.32 a barrel, surpassing the previous $35.30 high reached on October 2000.
Prices are now at their highest level since October 1990, when Brent futures traded at $41.90 a barrel in the run-up to the Gulf War.
