The PSNI has closed Belfast's Albertbridge Road to traffic this evening due to disturbances in the area.
A police spokesman said a crowd of about 200 people had gathered in two opposing groups between Castlereagh Street and Mount Pottinger.
Stones and other missiles have been thrown. The PSNI spokesman said police vehicles have also come under attack.
The PSNI is maintaining a presence in the area.
