Irish trainers John Oxx and Kevin Prendergast have some of their big guns primed for action at the Curragh this weekend.

Irish trainers John Oxx and Kevin Prendergast have some of their big guns primed for action at the Curragh this weekend.

Oxx plans to run Derby entry Dabiroun, a winner on the opening day of the Flat season at the Curragh, in the Listed Oak Lodge & Hamford Sires Loughbrown Stakes.

The Desert Prince colt will meet Prendergast's Amarula Ridge in the seven-furlong contest with the trainer of the former saying his charge "should run well."

But Prendergast fears it will be one his former inmates, Wathab, who has since joined Dermot Weld's yard, that will win the race.

Wathab mixed it with the best throughout his two-year-old career and signed off the season by finishing a length behind One Cool Cat in a Group One at the Curragh.

The other big race on the card is the Group Three Castlemartin/La Louviere Studs Gladness Stakes in which Oxx will saddle Dossier and Sea Dart, who face a possible five-strong challenge from Britain.
