A convicted paedophile, who served a sentence for killing a boy and who arrived in Dublin intending to start a new life, has been found a place of safety by British police.

Mr Robert Oliver (43), described as a "considerable threat" to young men and boys, arrived in Dublin on October 7th. He left the next day for Liverpool after being visited in a city centre hospital by a Garda detective.

Mr Oliver, who served eight years of a 15-year sentence for killing a 14-year-old boy, left England when angry residents of a housing estate in Swindon, Wiltshire, discovered his identity. Police in Sussex have arranged a place of safety.
