The Palestinian Authority has condemned today's bombing that killed at least seven people and wounded more than 80 others at Jerusalem's Hebrew University.

But in a statement, the Authority led by President Yasser Arafat said it considered Israeli Prime Minister Mr Ariel Sharon "as being responsible for this cycle of terror", including a Gaza air raid last week that killed a top militant and 14 other Palestinians.

The military wing of the Islamic group Hamas claimed responsibility for the blast at a cafeteria in Hebrew University's Frank Sinatra International Students Center.
