A judicial review of the Parades Commission's decision to allow Orangemen to march down Belfast's Lower Ormeau Road next Monday may not go ahead today.

Legal problems delayed the lodgement of necessary papers in the High Court yesterday. Ms Padraigin Drinan, a solicitor acting for a resident of the area, said she intended to lodge the papers this morning.

Ms Drinan said the application was based on the legal argument that the Parades Commission had not followed the guidelines approved by parliament.

The application for judicial review is being brought by Mrs Patricia Pelan from Rutland Street, off the Ormeau Road. Ms Drinan said Mrs Pelan had been hemmed in for 27 hours in 1996 during a similar Orange parade.
