Kiev - Ukraine's parliament delayed a no-confidence vote in the Prime Minister, Mr Viktor Yushchenko, until tomorrow abruptly reversing an earlier decision and affording the reformist government a brief breathing space.
During a session yesterday marked by chaotic scenes and angry outbursts, deputies voted 316 to 10 in the 450-seat chamber to postpone the motion which has been hanging over Mr Yushchenko's government for the past week.
