A male pedestrian died after he was struck by a car in Connemara tonight.
Gardai from Salthill Garda station are investigating the collision which happened at Rosamhil at around 6.30pm.
The man's identity has not yet been released.
The man's death brings the total for people killed on Irish roads this year to 41, including eight in Northern Ireland.
