The oldest member of the British parliament, life peer Lord Granville of Eye, has died just two days after his 100th birthday.

Lord Granville, a Gallipoli veteran, was a Liberal MP from 1929 to 1951. He had been mistaken about his own age for most of his life, and until recently it had been thought that the oldest peer was Lord Denning (99).
