MADONNA has been house hunting in London and has viewed a £4.5 million mansion where, as a prince, Edward VII is said to have conducted his affair with actress Lillie Langtry.
Madonna wants her six month old daughter Lourdes to go to school in Britain.
"At least people read books here," she said on her last visit to London.
Mrs Merton star Caroline Aherne (33) stayed away from the funeral yesterday of her former boyfriend Matt Bowers.
Bowers died of cancer, diagnosed one month after he and the TV actress split up at Christmas, following a four month relationship.

President Nelson Mandela (79), speaking about his relationship with Graca Machel (52), said yesterday that he was living through a wonderful period of his life.
"To be in love is an experience that every man must go through,"
he told the daily Star newspaper. "For me it's an amazing experience. It is such a wonderful period for me.
"When will I marry? I don't know," he said, when pressed on future plans.
