A plane carrying 117 passengers has made a safe emergency landing at Heathrow airport after apparently developing an electrical fault.

The British Airways Boeing 767 was around 30 minutes into its flight to the Tanzanian capital Dar Es Salaam when crew members and passengers smelled burning in the cockpit and cabin. A warning light indicated an electrical fault.

The aircraft returned to Heathrow and landed safely around 45 minutes later. The plane taxied to the terminal building and passengers disembarked normally.
