Fianna Fáil's Robert Troy has said the public are growing tired of political uncertainty and want a new government in place.
The Longford Westmeath TD’s comments come as negotiators from his party meet with Fine Gael again today to discuss arrangements for a minority government.
A meeting between the two sides last night was described as cordial and constructive.
Mr Troy said Independents will have the ultimate say on who will lead the Dáil but a solution must be found soon.
Speaking on Midlands 103, he said: “The time has come to ensure a working arrangement is in place. The public is impatient at the lack of direction.
“People want to see a new government in place. They voted for change, they want to see a change in policy direction that this country has been going in.”
