A postmortem examination of a young female student is due to take place in Galway today, following her death in hospital yesterday.
The student, who has not been named, died at University College Hospital Galway, after she was taken ill at the Gort na Coiribe student accommodation.
Gardaí in Galway said that they would await the outcome of the postmortem examination before commenting further on the case.
However it is understood that there is no evidence at this stage to lead gardaí to believe that the death was suspicious.
