Tokyo - There has been little media interest in Tokyo in the protests dogging Emperor Akihito by former PoWs, according to Financial Times correspondent Michiyo Nakamoto. Ms Nakamoto said the Japanese were more concerned with the issue of war-time Korean "comfort women" and their claims for compensation from the Japanese government.
Veterans of second World War labour camps booed the emperor again yesterday, when he arrived in Cardiff on the second day of his state visit to Britain.
