Lima - US Secretary of State, Mr Colin Powell, yesterday cut short his first South American tour after attacks on the World Trade Centre in New York and the Pentagon in Washington.
"A great tragedy has struck our country. It will not affect the nature of our society. We will find out who is responsible for this and bring them to justice," Mr Powell said, who was in Lima to attend an Organisation of American States meeting.
The meeting began with a minute's silence, when delegates stood with their heads bowed.
