An Aer Lingus jet containing 90 passengers was forced to return to Cork Airport shortly after take-off yesterday morning, because of pressurisation problems.

An Aer Lingus spokeswoman said there was no danger to passengers or the nine crew members. The jet, which was flying to Amsterdam, returned to Cork 20 minutes into its flight as a precaution.

A replacement jet was flown from Dublin and passengers left at around 11 a.m, over four hours behind schedule.
