Dáil protestProtesters are expected to march on the Dáil today to voice their anger at the Government's handling of the law on statutory rape.

The march was spontaneously planned when callers to Joe Duffy's Liveline programme on RTÉ radio began to express support for a public protest.

The mother of the victim in the Mr A case, who spoke on Gerry Ryan's 2fm programme on Wednesday, yesterday told Liveline she would attend the Dáil protest. She said people "should be out there supporting one another and supporting the victims."

"Let the Government know that we're here to fight for our children, to fight for the rights of our children," she said.
