A man has been arrested following a shooting in a Derry bar late last night that left two people in hospital.
Police investigating the attack arrested the man this morning.
The attack happened after a row at the Oval bar on Duke Street in the Waterside area of the city at midnight.
The man returned to the bar with an air rifle and fired a number of shots.
A Protestant man was hit in the head and hand while a woman sitting beside him was hit in the chest.
Detectives believe the woman was not the intended target.
The victims were treated overnight in hospital, although their injuries are not thought to be life threatening.
A PSNI spokesman said detectives were following a definite line of inquiry and confirmed the shooting was being treated as sectarian.
