Police in Co Down are investigating an incident in which a woman's car was hijacked in Newry yesterday.
The woman, who is in her 20s, was driving a green BMW 328 Coupe car. She was stopped in traffic at Patrick Street shortly before 6pm when the vehicle was struck from behind by a Ford Escort estate car.
When she got out of the car to speak to the driver, he pushed past her and struck her a number of times during a struggle before driving the BMW away.
The man is described as around 6ft tall, with swarthy skin, and was wearing a light, striped jumper and jeans. The second man drove the Ford escort away.
The woman was not injured in the incident.
