PSNI officers came under petrol bomb attack during disturbances in Derry overnight.

PSNI officers came under petrol bomb attack during disturbances in Derry overnight.

Youths threw petrol bombs at police vehicles after officers were sent to the Fountain estate area of the city to investigate reports of devices being thrown.

When the police arrived they became the targets.

Order was restored, said a police spokesman, and a police presence was maintained in the area overnight to prevent trouble resuming.

There were no reports of any injuries or arrests
