Mr Muscle by Sue Townsend will be broadcast live from the theatre at 7.45 p.m. Thomas Davis Lectures (RTE Radio 1, 9 p.m.) A Man Before His Time, a celebration of the life of Sean O Faolain in the centenary year of his birth, by Prof Maurice Harmon.

The Health Report (RTE Radio 1, 3.30 p.m.) Teri Garvey examines the health benefits of craniosacral therapy and osteopathy. Thunderbirds Are Go! Sci-Fi On Strings (BBC Radio 2, 9 p.m.) Bob Monkhouse looks at the appeal of science fiction shows like Thunderbirds, Captan Scarlet and Stingray.

The Documentary on One: The Twelfth Apostle (RTE Radio 1, 7.05 p.m.) Martin Lavan is an old IRA man with a colourful past - he was one of Michael Collins's "Twelve Apostles" who shot the British spies known as the Cairo Gang on Bloody Sunday 1920.
