SPL round-up:Steven Whittaker's impressive goalscoring form continued as Rangers restored their 13-point advantage at the top of the Scottish Premier League with a 2-0 win at Kilmarnock.
The Ibrox full-back netted his 11th goal of the season before Kenny Miller doubled the advantage for the Scottish champions at Rugby Park.
Killie had held Rangers to a draw here earlier in the season, before wrecking Robbie Keane’s debut with a win over Celtic, but failed to overcome the Old Firm on this occasion.
Motherwell extended their unbeaten run to 11 games against St Mirren but had Buddies’ substitute Andy Dorman to thank for their point at St Mirren Park.
With a dull game going nowhere Dorman replaced Alan Johnston on the hour-mark then missed two good chances within five minutes.
The Paisley midfielder twice had only Well keeper John Ruddy to beat but missed the target on both occasions leaving the home side without a win in their past 10 SPL matches, although the draw took them four ahead of bottom side Falkirk.
However, Buddies’ boss Gus MacPherson must find a solution to their scoring problems if they are to draw away from the relegation battle.
