A woman who claims she was raped by a former Kildare publican has told a Central Criminal Court jury that a statement she made to gardai was unreliable. However, she insisted to Mr Erwan Mill-Arden, defending, that she was raped. The 52-year-old accused has plea ded not guilty to raping the then 17-year-old at his Co Kildare home on September 23rd, 1997. The woman told Mr Mill-Arden she went to the man's house and smoked cannabis with him and another man. She said the accused smoked cannabis through the night but agreed she had told another court she saw the accused smoking cannabis at a specific time.

She denied Mr Mill-Arden's suggestion that they had consensual sexual contact. The case continues.
