RTÉ said more than 600,000 viewers, representing an audience share of 42 per cent, tuned in for the birth of Monica and Chandler's baby and a make-or-break love decision for Ross and Rachel

It is estimated that 77 per cent of all 15 to 24-year-olds were watching television at the time of the screening.

RTÉ was the first broadcaster in Europe to transmit the final episodes of the sitcom. Friendshas been on the air for ten years.
